Pick Your Poison Bake Shop was established in March, 2011 by Taryn Mumpower and Robyn Holt. Their mission – to reinvent the boring cupcake – was born after a drunken night out in downtown Las Vegas some weeks before. On that fateful night, and with the help of notable visionaries Jameson and Jack Daniels, Taryn and Robin slurred their plans into action.
Their first baking experience was a DISASTER. In their words, “It was like a bomb went off in the kitchen and everything tasted awful.” But, they didn't let it bring them down. Instead, they held tastings with family and friends, built up honest feedback, and started creating signature flavors that gave cupcakes their long-awaited, scrumptious salvation.
Today, Pick Your Poison Bake Shop has done events with PJ Clarke's restaurant, Artifice, Griffin, Royal Resort and Sailor Jerry, and does weekly deliveries to The Cosmopolitan and Marquee Nightclub. Of course, weddings, bachelorette parties, corporate events and birthday parties are always on the menu,
but the team is always ready to try something new. Let them create something sassy, special and unforgettable, just for you!
Taryn Mumpower is the first ingredient mixed into Pick Your Poison Bake Shop. She was born and raised in Las Vegas, and isn't afraid to admit it. She loves venturing to Fremont Street to sip on some Jack Daniels and Stella Artois in her favorite bars. She is also extremely passionate about animals and has one dog named Priya Bella, who means the world to her. Taryn graduated from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Las Vegas in 2005 with an Associates Degree in Occupational Science.
Robyn Holt is the second ingredient that makes up this saucy duo! She enjoys a nice shot with a cold beer on a hot day while playing with her three dogs. She also loves spending time in her favorite Fremont Street bar, The Griffin, drinking copious amounts of Jameson. Robyn hails from the far ends of Massachusetts and moved to the Vegas Valley six years ago. She obtained her MBA in Global Business and Marketing from Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island in 2006.
